Services

Counseling services are provided at The Institute by interns, residents, and senior staff members who are trained in religion, spirituality and the behavioral sciences. Pastoral counselors do not impose their personal religious beliefs upon others. Persons of all faiths and persons of no religious affiliations are equally welcome. Every person’s faith and values are respected. Our counselors are able to explore the religious or spiritual dimensions of the problems the person brings as needed. The counseling process can help you:

  • Work through depression, anxiety, trauma, and other psychological issues
  • Rebuild your life after loss
  • Manage conflict constructively
  • Gain insights and awareness of your personality, family, and other relationships
  • Explore your sexual identity
  • Prepare for marriage through premarital counseling
  • Improve your communication skills
  • Enrich your relationship with your partner
  • Learn better parenting skills
  • Understand your cultural identity and other immigration related stressors and issues
  • Manage your stress more effectively
  • Grow spiritually and/or religiously
